Speaker Introduction: Councilwoman Lena Gonzalez, City of Long Beach

Lena Gonzalez currently serves on the Long Beach City Council as the First District representative, which includes Downtown, Central, the Port of Long Beach and a portion of the Westside area. In this role, she serves roughly 50,000 residents in one of the most unique districts in the city. Councilwoman Gonzalez also serves on the following boards within her council position: State & Federal Legislative, Harbor &Tidelands (Chair), LBUSD Joint Use (Chair) and the i710 project committee (Chair).

Speaker Bio: Alan Pullman, Senior Principal with Studio One Eleven

Alan is founder and senior principal at Studio One Eleven, leading the design and integration of the firm’s architecture and urban design work. He is a licensed architect with over 30 years’ experience working with developers, cities and communities to enhance and improve the design and quality of the urban environment. Alan has led several planning and urban revitalization efforts including the Carson Street Mixed Use Master Plan, Downtown Long Beach Visioning Process, and the Westchester Business Improvement District Plan. He currently co-chairs Downtown Long Beach Associates Economic Development Committee, is part of the inaugural cohort of the Executive MSc in Cities Program at the London School of Economics, and serves on the Urban Land Institute’s Urban Revitalization Council. A native of New York, Alan received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University.
